CoSign – Downtown Beaverton Association
Creative Direction
Signage Design
Strategy + Consultation
Objective
In early 2018, CoSign established a joint-venture partnership between the American Sign Museum and Kentucky-based design studio BLDG. The ASM lended it’s educational resources, industry knowledge and museum status while BLDG lent it’s design, strategy and project management capabilities. For the first time CoSign expanded beyond the Midwest and took place on the West Coast in Beaverton, OR.
“The Beaverton Downtown Association (BDA) is extremely excited to be partnering with the American Sign Museum to further develop the creative identity of downtown Beaverton. Beaverton is the most diverse community in Oregon, and now our signage will be able to celebrate what makes our community unique.”, states Kevin Teater, the BDA executive director.
Outcome
After interviewing the selected downtown businesses and submitting design proposals, my designs were selected for 3 different businesses. Worked with the CoSign committee, the Downtown Beaverton Association, business owners, and local fabricators to make the vision come to life. The signage was well received by everyone involved, as well as the community. It led to continued work with the DBA to help make Beaverton a destination spot for locals and tourists alike.
